Opening Activities

Our club gathered at the new branch of the Clinton-Macomb Public Library. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m. by President Jeff Furest. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by Mary Ann Hosey. Having no piano, the club sang the national anthem without accompaniment. “The Four-Way Test” was led by Julie Miller. A prayer was given by Tom Davies.

LUNCH
A delicious catered lunch of chicken in sauce along side pasta shells stuffed with spinach and tomato sauce were the main course. Green beans and mixed rice were the side dishes. Mixed salad with a choice of dressing, rolls and brownies were also served. Bottled water and soda pop were available for drinking.

Speakers/Program

We enjoyed a tour of the new library facility by Larry Neal who showed us the automatic book sorting machinery. Next, the club was led to an additional room where a large Rotary gift was presented by the Rotary Foundation. The gift was an alphabet whirligig, that is a device where children can turn a wheel and letters of the alphabet are presented a long with the corresponding sign language letters.
