The Dick Pierson Rotary annual golf outing was a rounding success. After a lunch of cheeseburgers and/or hotdogs we began our golf. Gowanie Golf Club course was in great shape before we were through!
A shotgun scramble pitted Rotarian against Rotarian. Rick Veill ($10,000 winner) was there as well as a few Rotarian spouses and past Rotarians’ children.
The weather was wonderful, along with the company. (And the drinks.) Ed Mastry smuggled in his wine in his own cooler. Joe Casasanta had his own flask also!
Eric welcomed all and thanked everyone for coming to help memorialize his dad.
The little house trophy (made by Jeff Furest) with past winners name plates, sat ready for the announcement of this year’s winners.
- Kris Howell won longest drive for women (beating Nancy “Lopez” Dedenbach by inches.) Kris also won closest to the pin which she generously shared with Nancy.

- Mark Zuccaro won longest drive for men and Ryan Murphy won closest to the pin for men.

- The Dempsey boys won overall coming in with nine under par. They tied with Zuccaro/Carnaghi team but lost out due to Eric thinking up some sort of tie breaker (!?).

The evening ended with a delicious steak dinner.
Next meeting September 24 we will welcome the Macomb County Foster Program as our guest speaker and will be presenting them with some very needed items. Please bring a item or you can give a cash donation now and Julie Huttenlocher and Jessie Johnson will do the shopping for you. Just let Julie know to charge your account.

*Great Lakes Crossing Aquarium
*Zoo
*CJ Barrymore
*Airtime
*Gift cards to stores- for kids coming into care who may need emergency items.
