ROUND TABLE
Karan Bates-Gasior led the discussion. Karan announced that in her year as president her focus will be on our own club. This is because the club will be 100 years old next May and this is an event that can never to be repeated.
A big project will be the repair and the upgrade of the Rotary Park in Mount Clemens. Eric Pierson will be the chairman of the event. $50,000 is needed for the upgrade. Mashell Carissimi is offering to do the electrical work. Karan is hoping to get a grant from the Rotary District Foundation and all members are expected to contribute.
Karan emphasized the need to gain new members, the club is only half the size it was in 2001.
For the centennial year, we’ll be working to update the archives which are located at the Mount Clemens Library. Sam D’Angelo is donating a large collection, as well as Mary Ann Hosey. Members are encouraged to bring in old archive materials.
