ROTARY MINUTE
Given by Lauren Gresnak and Madison Atwell the co-presidents of the Interact club of the International Academy of Macomb High School.
After attending last year’s RYLA event, Madison Atwell felt inspired to start an Interact club at her high school. Madison enlisted the help of friend Lauren, and Valerie Miller (Rotarian Aunt) who together spent the summer establishing the club with Rotary International. The girls opened the club for membership in September and currently have 30 members to form the Interact club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mount Clemens. The International Academy of Macomb teacher sponsor is Alice Cook.
The Rotary Interact is a service club which will help the students to identify and complete community service projects to meet their 150 hours of community service required to graduate

RECOGNITION BY JULIE H
Nancy D. paid $5 to ask for help from any Rotarian in getting helpful information on the candidates running on the nonpartisan part of the ballot for our public universities boards.
Tom Davies: Father Tom was fined$5 by daughter Julie for playing with her stuff.
Bill Patterson fined $5 for being the peanut gallery and unable to sit quietly and listen during the meeting. Bill was also recognized for being Top Chicken, or rather his chickens were recognized as being champion and reserve champion birds at the Dayton Fancy Feathers Club event which hosted 1,300 birds. Bill also chirped up and invited us all to the Nov. 3 Michigan Poultry Breeders event at Birch run.
Sarah Lee - $5 for besting Tom as being most-traveled. Sarah spent time in Alaska in August and Europe in September and rounded out her fun with a visit to the Game of Thrones event held in Detroit last weekend. Lots of fantasy fun.
All Rotary residents of Clinton Township and Macomb Township were fined $1 for the absence of the Library Director (and Rotary president) Larry Neal while he toured Greece.
Julie H. fined herself $5 for a mistake. (For the life of me I can’t figure out what my notes say. Oh well, it’s all Greek to me.)
Al Zuccaro’s table was fined $1 each for missing Al as he heads down to Florida for the winter.
Sam D’Angelo was fined $5 for accomplishing the year-long process of meeting all the criteria for a Rotary International Presidential Citation. Congratulations and Thank you to Sam.
Cecilia Moloney $5 for forgetting her 57-year anniversary on the actual day. She was distracted by something in the air in Arizona. Decongestants will do that to you.
